Cockatoo Headbanger

I just love this little Cockatoo headbanger! He is so cute rockin' it out. Someday when I can manage to get one when I have the time and space, I really want a cockatoo. They are so beautiful! But then again, I notice that I am attracted to any animal that has something extra going on top of his head. Chickens, ducks, angorra rabbits, hairy guinnea pigs, even miniature donkeys have wild hair. Maybe there is a "funny farm" in my future. Hahaha ;-)

I really want to have some Polish chickens, too.  We had one when I was little.  They are just too cute.

Part of the Flock

Unfortunately I have been very sick these past couple of weeks. So I haven't been able to keep up with all my blogging and "computer stuff" that seems to occupy a bunch of my time building my Internet business. But the funnest thing happened to me when I was having a bad day just before I sick. aka...a bunch of bad days!


At sunset I was turning into the country club where I go to take care of an elderly women, when a large flock of chickadees uniformly took off from one green side of the road diagonally across to the other side where there is a small pond a ways down. My car was going about 15 miles an hour.  A speed that suited the birds just fine, because they flew "with" me. Surrounding me and gradually rolling over the car to give the continuous wave of birds a chance to fly with the Big Bird! This went on the whole way down the road! 

The big emotional baby I can sometimes be over birds, critters and nature; I started to cry.  For me this was one of the beautiful special moments in life. Even though I cried a few tears, it cheered me up tremendously on a day that had been a bad day.

Just another reason to add to the many reasons of why I love birds so much. I always wished I could be a bird and fly freely like they do. On that day I consider I have done just that.

I sell some feather supplies and hair clips in my Artfire store, but I love this new feature that Artfire has for creating collections. I thought I would share some of my favorites that include other designers as well. There are many pretty pieces to found. So start shopping!

One of My Favorites

This is one of my favorite feathered hair clips that I made.  I love the rich peacock colors.  It is the only feather pad that I had like this because it cost a bit more than the usual feather pads that I sell.  These are the more rare feathers collected off of chest of peacock.  The colors vary with different angles and lighting.  If you are interested in checking out any of my feather designs and supplies they can be found in my Artfire.com link in the right hand column of this blog.  My main website and store name over on Artfire.com is Gypsy G Designs.  I sell a bunch of other stuff in addition to feather fashions.  It's the Gypsy in me that loves many things and many places!  Here is the link to my website http://gypsygdesigns.com/  I try to add new product to it at least a couple times a month.  Feel free to sign the guest book if you would like occasional updates on my store.  (Don't worry, I don't share addresses or a send a ton of emails.)

Are you ready for all the parties?  What if get invited to a masquerade party, but don't have a lot of time to prepare?

There are so many fun ideas for masks, especially with feathers.  Buy one premade or make one up yourself!  If you click on one of my Ostrich.com affiliate links you will find a section that has premade masks for sale.  If you are looking to make your own they have TONS of gorgeous feathers dyed in dozens of colors.  So go check it out. 

And don't forget the Feather Pads.  They sell feathers already glued down onto a lightweight fabric backing that can be cut and trimmed for your own designs.  These also work well for mask making.  The other plus to having a mask or two is that they make pretty decoration to your interior design when they aren't being used as mask!  Take a look at my Artfire.com store Gypsy G Designs.  I also sell some feathers there for small projects and I always try to ship them out quickly.
